HOW CAN I LET THE HOSPITALS KNOW IT MAY BE TOS. GRANTED I HAVE HEART DISEASE AND MANY OTHER SYNDROMES AND QUICKLY RULE OUT CAD. IT FEELS LIKE THEY ARE THROWING HANDS IN THE AIR AND YELLING STOP.

Hello Rhonda,
It's hard to know where to start here. TOS may be a very small part of the greater whole.

I find with my patients that all the cajoling by doctors, family and friends often falls on deaf ears. Then, and only then, one day we reach a place, when we get utterly tired of being in pain, being sick, taking pills, consulting doctors, changing from this diet to that one. Taken at the flood, this is the moment that leads onto fortune, to quote Shakespeare.

It's a spiritual place really. Beginning to see that my body is the place where God resides and actually where am I going to live if my body stops functioning long before its time?

I know nothing about you or your lifestyle, so I'm writing into a vacuum; but you've said enough for me know that all is not well in the state of Denmark. More Shakespeare. Macbeth, I think.

So I'm taking a stab into this vacuum. It may be way off line. Refined carbs are probably what have brought you to this point of heart disease, CAD and many other syndromes. Cut them out of your life, permanently, or at least halve them, and you will turn the corner to a bright future.

It won't be easy. But I've done it as have many of my patients, so it can be done. Does the thought of no pain, no pills and not having to consult doctors appeal?

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Adson's test is the way to test for it, but there is some art in doing this screening. With the aid of a Doppler device it is much easier. Basic chiropractic, and basic medicine too. Get some knowledgeable doctor to do it on you. Within two minutes you'll know whether you have TOS or not. Fixing it is another story; there are many causes, all complex and some serious.

I hope this contributes. Good luck and God speed.

PS. I hope you weren't expecting a simple, quick answer. It doesn't exist.
