shoulder rib pain
Had an MRI on shoulder results sai rotater cuff tear tendinitis and some fluid around AC joint.would this cause breast area tenderness?
That's an interesting question, and I must admit I am unable to give an unequivocal answer.
I think so, for two reasons. The first is that any dysfunction of the AcromioClavicular Joint is likely to affect the whole collar bone, and the SternoClavicular joint, very close to the breast.
The second reason is that any condition affecting the shoulder can involve the Pectoralis Major muscle, the Pec Minor too, very close to the breast tissue.
Always a good idea to have a breast examination too. The rule: Remember the patient can have two different diseases. One affecting your shoulder, the other your breast.
Getting that AC joint mobilised, exercised, iced and healthy is probably the most important factor in your problem.
I hope this has contributed. Incidently, whilst this could be related to a Tietze's syndrome, it's probably not. Are the ribs adjacent to the breastbone tender? Swollen?
