Can a broken coccyx cause my ankles to be swollen?
And hands to go numb? I have very mild carpal tunnel, but within 6 hrs of being bucked of my horse, my ankles swelled, and have stayed swollen..
And now my hands go numb doing everything.
It's takes a considerable force to fracture the coccyx, and often things happen at the same time. But I'm struggling to think what may cause your ankles to swell.
My advice is a visit to your GP to check your blood pressure, urine test for kidney infection, and perhaps even an opinion from a cardiologist. All these can cause swollen ankles.
Carpal tunnel is often related to a fixated rib in the neck, and certainly that fall would have shaken your neck and upper thoracics up to. Perhaps a visit to a chiropractor for an examination might also be in order.
Now you know why chiropractors hate horses! Or rather falls from horses. But I ride motorbikes and fly gliders so I'd better keep my mouth shut! Do what you're passionate about, but do try not to fall, especially now.
