I'm Natasha from Mauritius.
I would like to seek help from you in treating my pain.
I Fell down the stairs at my work place on 16th May 2016 & landed heavily on my bum. Xray showed coccyx displacement; to date I don't have pain neither in my lower back nor in the tailbone area but I have this really nagging pain in the back sides of my thighs especially when sitting.
Kindly advise if this thigh pain is caused by the dislocated coccyx. I have also done a lumbar spine MRI which shows no abnormality, no disc prolapse.
Hope you can give me some advice and what can be done to get relief. If you could advise if only thigh pain is related to coccydynia or should I undergo other tests?
Many thanks in anticipation,
Only a careful thorough examination can determine where this nagging pain in your legs is coming from.
If you have absolutely no coccyx pain when running your finger down from the sacrum in the direction of the anus, then it's unlikely that is the problem.
An injured coccyx protests loudly!
Falling on your buttocks can certainly also disturb the sacroiliac joints, and that is my first thought. However the nagging pain in both legs is somewhat unusual; like I said a good examination is what's needed.
I believe there are one or more chiropractors in Mauritius. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
