Tingling in the ring finger and pinky.

by Carey

The description you give about tingling in the ring finger and pinky finger (right side) is almost a perfect description of my ailment. I also cannot raise my chin more than a few degrees above level without a sharp pain in the neck on the backside between the shoulder blades. This started a week or so ago and is worse at times and better at times. Will a nerve medication like Neurontin help? What about a muscle relaxer? Deep tissue massage? Please help.
Thanks.

None of the above, Carey. Treat the cause of the pain, not the symptoms.

You have a typical low cervical facet syndrome, and perhaps a thoracic outlet syndrome (because the C8 and T1 nerves lie on the first rib.) (Enter these terms in the search engine above)

Forget taking pills, they'll only blunt the pain (and this can be an extremly painful condition), and consult a local reputable chiropractor. Preferably sooner rather than later, before your arm becomes lame and numb.

I treat this condition on daily basis, almost always very successfully. X-rays may be needed.

I hope this has contributed. Let us know how you get on in a few weeks time.
