Tingling in hands and feet
Cervical spine stenosis
Carpal tunnel tingling in arms and hands
Hi I have had tingling in my hands and feet and mild pain in hands and weakness in arms 6 months ago. It then disappeared and recently came back about 2 weeks ago and it does not go away. What could it be? Regards Hello, Thank you for your question.
The good thing, oddly, is that you have pain. Non-painful tingling and weakness would be of greater concern.
Nevertheless, you are right to be a little worried. The important question to be answered is: are the tingling in the arms, and the tingling in the legs connected. One would presume so, but it could be two different conditions.
You make no mention of pain in your neck or back. Do movements of your neck or back provoke the tingling?
For example, carpal tunnel syndrome could very easily explain the features in your arms, but wouldn't affect your legs.
Cervical stenosis needs to be considered too, that could affect your arms and legs. An X-ray of your neck is essential.
One of the serious neurological diseases should be considered also, although they don't usually cause pain. With this in mind, my best advice is to a consult with a neurologist before going down the chiropractic route.
Just because the latter are so serious, I'd immedately have a good look at your diet. Absolutely avoid a diet high in carbohydrate but low in fat. I would suggest immediately that you increase the good fats in your diet. Greatly increase: fish oil, olive oil, avocados and nuts. Keep the seed oils low.
A series of B12 injections would be a good idea. Talk to your GP. In short, go the medical route first, then see a local experienced chiropractor. Only a careful and thorough examination is going to reveal the source of your problem.
I hope this has contributed.
