Hello Debbie,
Your tale is not an unusual one; we have similar stories every day at the Chiropractic Coalface.
Before serious things happen in the body, it usually starts to warn you than something big is in the pipeline. For two years it's been trying to tell you, and unless you do something now, and quickly, there's worse to come.
Conditions start usually with pain in the joints of the spine, and then if you ignore it and hope it'll go away, it starts to affect the nerve running to your shoulder and down your arm.
Your doctor is only treating the symptoms with those anti inflammatories, not the cause of the pain. An X-ray of your neck and upper back, and perhaps shoulder are now important.
Your doctor will probably direct to physical therapy, or a physiotherapy, and you have to make the decision whether to go in that direction, or with chiropractic. Your call.
But do something soon more than swallowing pills. They will only give you an ulcer if you take for any length of time. Or you'll get a frozen shoulder and worse.
