Pain, numbness and tingling in arms and hands accompanied with swelling and tingling in hands

Carpal tunnel syndrome: tingling in three or four fingers.
TINGLING IN ARMS AND HANDS
I've had this problem for a very long time and it has just gotten worse over the years. I believe it began when I was pregnant and it was diagnosed as pre-eclampsia. Which evidently pained me for more than 13 years.
The pain in my both my arms and the pain and swelling with tingling sensation in my arms is a daily occurrence for me.
The pain and swelling is always excruciating in the mornings.
Recently it is accompanied by a deep pain in my left shoulder blade more often than less.
I also have lower back pain when this gets severe then I have a swelling on a bone or cartilage I don't know. But when pressed it moves slightly and I can feel it click under the pressure of my finger.
I get a sharp pain up my back and I find it difficult to bend or walk or to get off the bed.
I live off pain killers that don't really help the pain it just ends up numbing my brain.
Please note I am a migraine sufferer. Just recently my pressure was high on a few occasions not all the time.
I had a car accident 20 years ago whereby my arteries and veins on my right side of my left wrist had to be sewed together. Leaving an awful scar and little less control of the small finger.
Hereditary wise my father died of Leukaemia and my mother of a Aneurism of the brain and so did her mother in turn.
I hope you understand my complicated problem and can give me some insight to its cause and treatment.
Thank you
Sabirah
Hello Sabirah,
There is a strong indication you are suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, though this is speculative, and needs to be confirmed by a chiropractic examination.
The Median nerve is trapped either by the first rib in the neck, in the forearm, and/or in the wrist. It often begins in pregnancy, and even more likely in the event of eclampsia. Which fingers are painful and numb? It's usually worse in the mornings.
Seeing your get it in both arms, the injury to your wrist is probably not important.
I recommend you contact Dr M van der Bos, a very competent chiropractor in your city.
I think the problem in the lower back is unrelated, but obviously also needs attention. He will take care of both conditions.
Ask Dr van der Bos for suggestions concerning your blood pressure. With your family history, it is vital to get it down. Perhaps weight loss, more of the foods that naturally lower cholesterol, if you are a smoker vital to stop, a change to olive oil, more fish... I could go on. Type "cholesterol" into the Search this site function at C-H.
I hope this has contributed.
