Numbness, weakness, tingling in left arm from upper arm through finger tips

Hi, I awoke 3 mornings ago with numbness in the left side of my face and weakness, numbness and tingling in my left arm. I have had an MRI and did not have a stroke or brain tumor. My arm feels like it has fallen asleep and is trying to wake up with pins and needles. By mid morning my arm feels heavy and weak and the tingling and numbness worsens. I can use my hand and arm but it's very difficult. My face feels like I've been to the dentist and the novocaine hasn't worn off. Any thoughts? Hello Joann
I need more information. In particular,
* Do you have any jaw joint pain or clicking, popping sounds. The joint is just in front of the ear, in fact if you put your index fingers in the ear canal, facing forwards, and open and close your mouth, you'll feel the joint.
* Headache?
* Any neck pain. In particular does turning to the left and looking up provoke any neck pain or tingling in your arm.
* Stretching your arm out to the side, palm forwards, and then extend the wrist. Is it VERY tight, sore, tingly in your forearm. Compare with the other side.
* Does raising your arm, placing it on your head, hanging the washing etc increase or decrease the tingling, or make no difference?
Less likely, but I would keep in mind this could also be a heart condition. Smoker? High blood pressure? Cholesterol? I'm sure your doctor has considered this angle.
Come back with some answers and we can take this further. Meantime I would lead a quiet life presently, don't carry anything heavy in your left arm. Obviously! It stretches out the brachial plexus of nerves that supply the arm.
