Numbness and tingling in arms and hands and slight back pain
NUMBNESS AND TINGLING IN ARMS AND HANDS
I found your website informative, thanks for putting up this website.
It started one morning when i woke up having "stiffed neck" on the left side,
The doctor recommended "Diclofenac and Ibuprofen". I'd taken for a few days. And did some exercise for my back and neck
After some time I felt my left hand & arms very weak, tired and numb. My upper left back feels tired also. And there is line of pain when upper left back is being massaged. My left arm is comfortable only when lying down. I continued the massage for 2 times a week for 2 weeks and the tiredness and weakness subsided.
Now I feel the tingling sensation on my left fingers, arm and hand. Especially when i move it from a one positon to another. I also feel a slight line of pain from upper left back when i move may head forward (slightly to the right). And when it is being massaged. Other movement of my head doesn't feel pain on my back.
1. Initially I had stiff neck (left area)
2. After 1 week (I felt numbness on my left arms and hands)
3. Now my left arms and hands are always having tingling sensation, and I feel slight pain from my upper back when i move my head forward and little to the right side.
Notes: For my initial stiff neck i taken "diclofenac" and ibuprofen. Thereafter i was having my upper back massage. I just recently had my complete medical exam (Blood, Sugar, ECG) and everything's normal. What's causing the problem? Please help?
Thanking you always,
GEL
Hello,
There is alas considerable research indicating that a whole bunch of medical tests can be negative today, and tomorrow you are very ill. And frankly that applies to chiropractic too.
First and foremost, a biggie. Never take two antiinflammatory drugs simulataneously. Never. http://www.chiropractic-books.com/Dual-Antiinflammatory-Drugs.html A 350% increased chance of poor health.
The usual course of events in spinal conditions is:
First spinal pain. Perhaps it might resolve itself, the body has astonishing healing properties.
Or, the facet for disc joints begin to irritate the nerve: pain, numbness or tingling in arms and hands. Very occasionally it might even cause symptoms and signs in the legs.
The fact that it is right rotation that produces pain on the left is a good sign. Much worse is left rotation to the left arm.
Nevertheless, it will take a careful and thorough examination to find the cause of your problem, and the solution. I recommend you talk to friends and family, your GP too, for a chiropractor in your neck of the woods.
Let us know how you get on.
