My insurance does not want to pay for my medical any longer! I have only gotten worse over a 15 year period of time.

My lower, mid, and upper back and my neck were injured 15 years ago. I have had 3 surgeries on my lower back but continue to have pain and leg pain with numbness. My upper/mid back cause me so much pain and my neck; well sometimes I don't think I'll make it through the day; it gets that bad. My insurance doesn't want to pay for anything else having to do with any of it. They think because it has been 15 years I should be better not worse.

I have seen a pain management doctor throughout this whole time and I feel like most days I don't want to live; the pain and numbness are that bad. Some days I can barely get out of bed or much less walk. But every once in awhile I have a really good couple of days. I just don't know what to do any longer. This was an injury from my employment 15 years ago.

The problem I think is, I am a 53 yr old woman and to look at me, I appear fine but this is not what is taking place within my body. I am in pain. Oh and I can only take one maybe two pills for the pain a day because they make me sick. Help.

It's a sad tale of woe; I'm sorry.

Since this is a work related injury, I'd start by finding a lawyer who specialises in workman's compensation; it's specifically for folk like you who have lifelong problems from an injury in the work place.

Are you doing any back and neck exercises on a daily basis? Some really gentle stretches every morning in bed, before arising would make a big difference; see the navigation bar at Chiropractic Help.

I'm really unsure whether chiropractic could help you or not; I have no idea of the seriousness of your injury, nor able to examine you. You might start looking for a gentle, thorough DC in your neighbourhood, and just go in for an examination and report of findings, and then follow your gut feel.
