Lumbarisation of S1 which has become L6
lumbarisationi have an extra disk L6 what is this condition called? Normal is five vertebrae and five lumbar discs. Six is called a lumbarisation, four a sacralisation. They often have an associated pseudo joint - that is where the trouble starts. In my experience they can be very troublesome. Disciplined back exercises from C-H EVERY monrning BEFORE getting out of bed is half the solution. Dr B |
