Locking pinkie, short sharp pain in forearm

Locking pinkie, short sharp pain in forearm Hi, recently my left pinkie has become stiff and almost locks at the knuckle. I also have short sharp pain in my left forearm and tingling in fingers of my left hand - any connection, what is cause? Regards, Danny Which fingers tingle, Danny?
Yes, there probably is a connection. You most likely have what is known as a trigger finger developing. It is often caused by Dupuytren's contracture which is a painless thickening and contracture of tissue beneath the skin on the palm of the hand and fingers. It most commonly affects the pinkie.
When the finger actually locks and you can't straighten it anymore (likely in the future) then it's work for an orthopaedic specialist specialising in hands.
But this sounds like an early case, and there is often much that chiropractic can do. I'm busy with a case right now that is responding hearteningly well.
The tendons run up thru the forearm, hence the pain in the forearm.
The tingling can be an entrapment between the bellies of the Pronator teres muscle (see carpal tunnel syndrome at C-H), but also in numerous other places too. A careful thorough examination is called for. The fingers that tingle gives significant clues.
I hope this has contributed.
